Success Stories
Every cat has a story. Here are some of the happy endings our adopters and fosters have helped create.
Adoption Success Stories
These cats found their forever homes thanks to our wonderful adopters.

Molly, Juan, and Sabo (Falcon)
Adopted Adopted May 2024
"Our story begins with our 6lb ball of fluff and ferocity. Our first cat, straight from the streets of Harlem, showed distinct symptoms of single kitten syndrome and so we knew that we wanted to look in to getting her a companion, for her sake, our sake and our furniture’s sake. I learned of Koko’s Rescue through Instagram. The first post I found was her rescue litter named after the Sailor Scouts - immediate brownie points. She was our first choice because I admired her dedication to all of the cats she rescued. I loved reading about each cat’s personality in posts and that she posted stories showing the lengths she went to care for the each and every cat. I also felt comfortable reaching out to her through DMs and explained that we were looking for a second cat that would do well with our first cat’s tenacious personality. She immediately understood our situation and conversed with me in detail about which cats she felt would fit our home. She sent pictures of (spoiler alert our future son) a kitten she recommended we meet if we wanted to go through with an adoption. I felt very understood during the process and knew immediately we wanted to go through with an adoption through her services. I felt relieved with how thorough the application process was - there is no doubt that she does everything in her power to make sure her cats find capable and loving homes. We visited her house to meet her cats. I loved that they have free roam and can socialize with each other. However one cat stuck out to us - wide eyed and timidly hiding in the couch but very much looking for love. “He’s the one,” my fiancé told me on the way home as I added a second litter box and carrier to our Chewy order. “That’s our cat”. Our application was approved and we welcomed Sabo into our small family. As approach the year anniversary of his adoption, cannot thank Koko’s Rescue enough for her help, kindness and dedication to helping to bring both cats and families together. Sabo has flourished so much as our family grows together. He’s chatty before meals and curious about every new box brought in from the post. And our first cat? We, absolutely amazed, saw her grooming Sabo after their daily naps together. Being an older sister looks so wonderful on her!"

Christine and Loki (L)
Adopted Adopted November 2024
"Anna puts so much of her life into her rescue work! She is so amazing at everything she does — from TNR to helping cats find their forever homes. I had the honor of foster failing Loki (FKA L). He is the sweetest boy and super playful and curious about everything. Loki is the missing link that brought all his siblings together. I’m so thankful to have had Loki join our family. Thank you Anna!!!"

The Veras and Arlo (Ezreal)
Adopted 4/2025
"I don’t know where to begin. Anna has passion in what she does best- rescuing cats! From tiny kittens to cats who are afraid but seek comfort and trust, she does it all! Especially when I needed help rescuing a cat in a yard who was injured, Anna reached out immediately and helped him heal through the process. You see, I was not expecting to get another cat as our family already have a handful of fur babies- 3 dogs, 1 stray cat, and 1 indoor only cat. With the help of my son (pictured above) rescuing this ginger cat from our yard, and Anna helping out with his recovery, soon enough he was ready for adoption. Constantly my son asked about him including me and husband. We were back and forth whether we wanted to adopt him. Keeping in constant communication with Anna, she was understanding and patient. After giving so much thought into it, my family and I adopted “Bro” a.k.a Arlo, named after “The Good Dinosaur”, on May 2024. Bro is a character, curious, and still has a lot to learn. He seeks affection and craves attention. Thank you so much Anna and Koko’s Rescue for all you do! Keep on doing what you’re doing. Your hard work and dedication shines through Koko’s Rescue, everyone, and those who have ambition and drive to help rescue animals."

Rebecca, Cameron, and Willow (Fauna)
Adopted 12/2024
"After getting married, we knew we wanted to start expanding our family and a cat fit the bill perfectly! We began searching a couple months after the wedding. Coincidentally at that time, a close friend of ours began fostering cats through Koko Rescue. All we had to do was reach out and Anna immediately made us feel comfortable and excited about adopting a cat! We looked at the available cats on her site and landed on Fauna. She was described as friendly, sweet, and playful, but had also been overlooked. We knew immediately we wanted to meet her and see if our home would be a good fit. Anna and the foster made meeting Fauna incredibly easy and they were beyond helpful answering our questions. They were so responsive, professional, and kind throughout the entire process. When we met her for the first time, Fauna actually approached us when we visited and gave the customary head-butt, which we took as a sign. We both fell in love with her and were ready to take the leap of faith and put in the application. Fauna came home to us in the first few days of 2025 and has been the highlight of our year. She is truly a perfect cat. She sits and watches Survivor with us in the evening, pretends to be a ferocious hunter when chasing her cat teaser, loves to look out the window at her kingdom in Queens, instantly purrs when we give chin scratches, and greets us at the door with excited chirps everyday. We wholeheartedly recommend getting your new best friend from Koko Rescue. Anna truly cares about each cat and has brought so much happiness not just to the cats she rescues, but the people who open their homes to her cats."

Michelle and Eddy and Eggy
Adopted June 2023
"I always knew that I would get a cat some day but didn’t know when. Being in grad school, I was a bit overwhelmed with the time I would have to take to learn how to take care of a cat as I’ve never had any pets growing up. Anna made sure I felt prepared to receive Edamame and Egg (Eddy and eggy for short) and bring them home. I asked many questions about their diet, the type of litter to use, vaccinations, and among many other topics, to which Anna was very helpful throughout this whole process. I was first interested in just adopting one cat (Eddy) but Anna suggested that I also take Eggy since they are bothers and they got along very well with each other. Although the two boys will often get into fist playful fist fights together, adopting Eddy and Eggy was the best choice as they are able to keep each other company when I’m not at home. I wouldn’t have been more prepared if not for the work of Koko’s rescue!"

Terrence and Creme Brulee
Adopted January 2024
"After meeting Creme Brulee through Koko's Rescue and Anna, my whole family fell in love with Creme! Anna's passion, hard work, and love for cats shows the moment you interact with her and her rescue. She was immensely helpful throughout the whole process, answering any questions I had (which was a lot...), and provided more than enough supplies while I was fostering with intent to adopt. Even post adoption she extended guidance on how to introduce Creme to my family and our current cat Artemis. It may have taken some time, but Anna's suggestions did wonders and they are now best of friends! I wouldn't recommend adopting from Anna enough! Thanks again for your hard work and helping us find the missing piece to our family!"
Foster Success Stories
Our foster parents make rescue possible. Here are their experiences.
Alyssa & Luna
Fostered Foster parent for 2+ years
"Fostering has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Seeing cats blossom from scared and shy to confident and loving is incredible. Yes, it's hard to say goodbye, but knowing they're going to loving homes makes it all worthwhile."
David & Mittens
Fostered Foster parent for 1 year
"I started fostering during the pandemic and haven't looked back. Mittens was my first foster - she was so timid, but by the end of our time together, she was purring on my lap. Her new family sends me updates, which makes the whole experience even more special."
Emily & Shadow
Fostered Foster parent for 6 months
"Shadow came to me underweight and scared of humans. It took weeks of patience, but eventually he started to trust me. When he found his forever home, I cried tears of joy. There's nothing like seeing a cat transform before your eyes."
